iTools 6 Uninstallation Instructions

Apple's package installer for OS X does not include an uninstall option. iTools 6 includes an installer.sh script to let you easily uninstall. If you are running under Jaguar, you will need to download a new installer.sh from Tenon's web site. The installer.sh shipped with iTools 6.5.6 does not run on Mac OS X 10.2.

To run the script on Mac OS X 10.1.x:

1. Log in as an Admin user.
2. Open the terminal window.
3. Issue the command:
cd /Library/Receipts
4. Run the script with the command:
sudo installer.sh --delete iTools.pkg
5. Enter "y" when prompted.

To download and run the script under Jaguar:

1. Download the installer.sh - tenon script. You can do this by explicitly downloading the file in your web browser from:

ftp://ftp.tenon.com/test/installer.sh-tenon

or by bringing up a terminal window and running the commands:

>ftp ftp.tenon.com
>Name: anonymous
>Password: (your email address)
>bin
>cd test
>get installer.sh-tenon

2. Move /usr/bin/installer.sh to /usr/bin/installer.sh-apple

sudo mv /usr/bin/installer.sh /usr/bin/installer.sh-apple

3. Copy installer.sh-tenon to /usr/bin/installer.sh-tenon

sudo cp installer.sh-tenon /usr/bin/installer.sh-tenon

4. Change into the /usr/bin directory

cd /usr/bin

5. Copy installer.sh-tenon to installer.sh

sudo cp installer.sh-tenon installer.sh

6. Set the permissions for installer.sh

sudo chmod 755 installer.sh

7. Change directories to /Library/Receipts

cd /Library/Receipts

8. Execute the command: installer.sh --delete iTools.pkg

sudo installer.sh --delete iTools.pkg

It will take a few minutes to uninstall. The files you downloaded will still be there, but the iTools app will be removed from the applications folder and the apache conf files will be restored to the defaults.
