iTools is designed to overlay Apple's bundled Apache. The internet protocol software for Mac OS X Server as delivered by Apple has been updated to the newest, secure versions (extending Mac OS X Server network security) and enhanced with Tenon's browser-based point and click interface. Included with iTools is SSL 3.0 to support multiple secure virtual hosts and certificates from authorized CAs, state-of-the-art caching and advanced proxy services that augment the built-in Apache proxy services, a Sherlock-savvy high-performance search engine, and support for WebObjects.
WebTen lets Mac OS users enjoy the same strength and sophistication of Apache, with the same supporting services - sophisticated proxy service, the Sherlock-savvy search engine, state-of-the-art DNS and multihoming FTP services - all with the ease of a secure point and click interface. WebTen 3.0 includes support for enhanced SSL certificates and dynamically loadable modules, to make extending a Mac OS web server with standard Apache modules as simple as a "drag and drop" into a Modules folder.
Both iTools and WebTen 3.0 include anytime, anywhere WEBmail, a fully customizable 'hotmail'-style web-based mail service that lets users read their mail from standard SMTP POP or IMAP accounts and also supports local 'sendmail' accounts, allowing ISPs to offer free mail accounts to clients. When iTools and WebTen 3.0 are released, they will each include demo versions of WebCrossing, Lundeen's web conferencing software, WebEvent, Matador Design's web-calendar application, and Aestiva's HTML/OS, a tool for building dynamic web sites. At MACWORLD, both iTools and WebTen will be demonstrated with WebCatalog, the leading eCommerce solution for Mac OS and Mac OS X Server from Pacific Coast.
In addition to these eCommerce web solutions, Tenon will demonstrate NetTen 1.4, a new version of Tenon's mail, POP mail, and IMAP server. NetTen is the most robust, scalable, easy-to-administer, high-performance, multidomain mail server solution for Mac OS. Tenon's powerful mail server has the ability to pre-screen incoming messages, discarding unwanted mail according to a sophisticated set of filtering rules. Today Post.Office is being used by more than twenty-five million mailboxes worldwide. Now with NetTen, Macintosh users can enjoy Software.com's premier mail server software.
