Configuring Apache will soon be even simpler with Tenon's new interface
Tenon's iTools has been used for almost two years now, initially on Apple's precursor to Mac OS X, the early Mac OS X Server 1.2. The new iTools 6.0 is designed not only for Mac OS X, but also for Apple's upcoming Mac OS X Server. Using iTools 6.0 lets Macintosh webmasters realize the full strength of an Apache-based web server, with all the concomitant benefits of using standard internet tools for dynamic content creation, and at the same time have all the advantages of an easy-to-use web server. "With iTools ease-of-use, top-performance and extensibility, coupled with Mac OS X's pre-emptive multitasking and protected memory, we expect Macintosh webmasters to rapidly transition to Mac OS X", said Tenon's President, Anita Holmgren. Because all the needed web server capabilities will be available using Tenon's iTools 6 on Mac OS X, webmasters will only need to consider Apple's upcoming new server product if they need the additional file sharing, NetBoot, or other advanced hardware features. iTools 6 will be supported on both platforms, giving webmasters a choice."
The new Aqua interface can be viewed from Tenon's web site at /products/itools6/newgui.shtml. The new GUI will be included in a future update release of iTools 6.0; a public beta will be announced shortly.
